Manufacturing Engineering Internship

About the role

Biogen is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join its interdisciplinary team at the Solothurn manufacturing site, a highly automated biopharmaceutical environment. The intern works alongside experienced professionals, supporting the design, commissioning and validation of manufacturing equipment, contributing to continuous improvement and helping solve technical challenges. The internship lasts 9 to 12 months and can be extended.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design and validation of new manufacturing equipment.
• Support continuous improvement projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and equipment performance.
• Take part in commissioning of new systems and equipment.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical challenges.
• Perform technical analyses and prepare documentation for engineering projects.
• Help maintain and optimise automation across the manufacturing facility.

Required profile

• Currently studying or recently graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in manufacturing and automation in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Enthusiasm for learning and for working in a collaborative team.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes in biotech or pharmaceuticals.
• Familiarity with automation systems and equipment validation.
