Mechanical Construction Manager

About the role

Mercury, the European leader in construction solutions, is looking for a Mechanical Construction Manager in Zurich. The company builds and manages complex engineering and construction projects for leading corporations, covering sectors such as enterprise data centres, advanced technology and life sciences, hyperscale data centres and fire protection.

Key responsibilities

• Project management: prepare relevant reports and report on construction progress
• Manage design consultants and building contractors, and provide solutions and cost projections
• Manage site design and construction processes and plan all resources, including labour, materials and subcontractors
• Lead a large team to meet project requirements and deadlines
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards and ensure project profitability
• Commissioning projects
• All other duties associated with the role or reasonably required by the company

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years as a mechanical construction manager
• Trade background or a relevant third-level qualification
• Proven record of coordinating and managing large projects
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and within strict deadlines

Required skills

• Good, solid knowledge of the full design and construction process
• Ability to control and manage people and programmes
• Computer skills: Windows, MS Office and MS Project
