Mechanical Design Engineer – Stress

About the role

Perform static and dynamic analyses as well as fatigue and damage tolerance analyses for cabin completion and modification projects. Support the Team Leader Mechanical Design Engineering to develop efficient work methods and ensure compliance with certification requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Static, dynamic and fatigue calculations of various installations (e.g., interior monuments, antennae, water tanks) using Finite‑Element‑Analysis and hand calculations.
• Review and approval of drawings and designs for stress aspects.
• Develop repairs and modifications regarding stress.
• Consult with mechanical design engineering to achieve lightweight and cost‑saving solutions.
• Develop technical and safety documentation such as reports, analysis, and assessments.
• Establish FEM models and Structural Substantiation Reports.
• Develop and procure material testing.
• Develop engineering standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in mechanical, aeronautical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of structural substantiation experience.
• Proactive behaviour with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and safety.
• Ideally an aerospace background; automotive or transportation experience is also considered.
