Mechanical Engineer – Robotics Manipulation Systems

About the role

Enact is building next‑generation robotic systems that combine AI with full‑body force awareness. As a Mechanical Engineer you will create the core mechanical components that enable dexterous manipulation across a wide range of tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Design structural components, joints, linkages, transmissions, end‑effectors and housings, balancing weight, stiffness, precision and cost.
• Own the full development cycle from concept sketches and architecture to series production, including rapid prototyping, FEM validation, tolerance stack‑up and fatigue analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to turn prototypes into reliable, cost‑effective parts.
• Work closely with electronics, controls and AI teams to integrate mechanical designs into a fully vertically integrated robot.

Required profile

• Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience designing complex mechanical systems.
• Strong English communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced CAD proficiency (e.g., Onshape) and experience with PDM/release workflows.
• Solid expertise in structural analysis (FEM) and tolerance analysis.
• Deep knowledge of design for manufacturing/assembly, including CNC machining, sheet‑metal fabrication, 3D printing, injection molding and precision assemblies.
• Hands‑on rapid‑prototyping skills (3D printing, laser cutting) and workshop tool use.
