About the role

The Hôpital du Valais is looking for a full‑time pulmonology specialist physician to join its Pneumology Service, which operates on the sites of Sion and Martigny. The role involves providing both outpatient and inpatient care, as well as contributing to the sleep‑medicine program.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pulmonology consultations for ambulatory and hospitalized patients across multiple sites.
• Participate in postgraduate training, continuous education, and clinical research.
• Contribute to service development projects and take part in on‑call duties.
• Supervise junior physicians, chief residents, and hospital doctors.
• Collaborate closely with nursing and allied health staff.
• Develop expertise in pulmonology and sleep medicine.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with university centers.

Required profile

• Federal medical degree or equivalent.
• Federal specialist title in pulmonology or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience as a chief resident or adjunct physician in a university or central hospital.
• Strong ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and assume responsibility.
• Fluent French language skills.
• Additional certification in sleep medicine or equivalent.
• Experience and recognition in stationary and ambulatory respiratory rehabilitation.
