Media Relations Manager – Group External Communications

About the role

Join the Group External Communications team at a leading global bank and help shape the bank’s media presence during a pivotal period. Based in Zurich, you will work closely with senior leadership to develop and execute media strategies that support the bank’s external positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute media relations strategies and plans, preparing statements, Q&As, briefing documents and executive talking points.
• Support the planning of media activities and provide hands‑on assistance across key briefs.
• Act as the focal point for Artificial Intelligence initiatives, helping to design and implement a Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategy.
• Assist the Head of Group External Communications in defining, reviewing and evaluating media performance indicators.
• Coordinate cross‑functional projects and ensure alignment with broader corporate communications goals.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in media relations, journalism or communications consulting, preferably within financial services.
• Strong familiarity with the Swiss and international media landscape.
• Full professional fluency in German and English, both spoken and written.
• Interest and knowledge of AI and technology‑related topics.
• Structured, analytical approach with solid project‑management capabilities.
• Ability to handle complex, group‑level topics in a large, matrixed organization.
• High dedication, reliability and strong interpersonal skills, especially under tight deadlines.
