Medical Safety Officer – Immunology

About the role

The Medical Safety Officer (MSO) for Immunology will join Johnson & Johnson’s Global Medical Safety organization. Reporting to the Therapeutic Area Safety Head, the MSO will lead safety assessment and benefit‑risk oversight for innovative medicine products throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and characterize safety data for marketed and investigational immunology products.
• Lead Safety Management Teams, overseeing signal detection, risk management plans (RMP) and REMS implementation.
• Provide medical and scientific expertise to Compound Development and Clinical Teams.
• Communicate safety findings to senior leadership, health authorities, prescribers and patients.
• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies in line with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification or equivalent experience in Medical Safety/Pharmacovigilance.
• Proven experience in product safety assessment and benefit‑risk evaluation.
• Strong understanding of regulatory expectations for safety surveillance.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional, matrixed teams.
