Middle Legal Counsel - Mobile Gaming

About the role

A partner company is recruiting a Middle Legal Counsel based in Switzerland to join a fully remote, international mobile gaming team. The role provides legal support across commercial agreements, intellectual property, corporate compliance and employment matters, working with internal teams and international partners to negotiate contracts, manage legal risks and protect digital products. It also covers specific Ukrainian regulatory requirements, including Diia City residency, employee reservation procedures and military registration.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage service agreements, marketing and advertising contracts, licensing and publishing agreements and NDAs; coordinate contract negotiations with advertising networks, influencers and user acquisition partners.
• Manage legal documentation for contractors, including Deel service agreements, Diia City gig contracts, amendments and completion certificates.
• Ensure assignment and transfer of intellectual property rights and prepare intra-group licensing agreements.
• Maintain the contract register and monitor contractual obligations, deadlines and renewals.
• Support Diia City residency compliance, prepare reports and coordinate with auditors and authorities; manage enterprise status, employee reservation and military registration procedures with HR.
• Monitor legislation on mobilization and employee reservation and explain its implications to the business.
• Oversee trademark registration and monitoring in Ukraine, the EU and the US, maintain IP records and protect trade secrets.
• Protect mobile games from infringement: identify violations, prepare cease-and-desist notices and submit complaints to Google Play, the App Store and Amazon Appstore, including via DMCA procedures.
• Handle incoming IP claims, prepare appeals against game rejections or suspensions, and monitor corporate compliance deadlines across group entities.
• Review and support the preparation of Privacy Policies and Terms of Use for mobile games.

Required profile

• Proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Practical experience with Diia City regulations (residency, gig contracts, critical enterprise status, employee reservation).
• Intellectual property experience, especially trademarks, software copyright, licensing and infringement matters.
• English at B2 level or above, able to draft contracts, manage correspondence and negotiate with international partners.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and independence in managing legal matters with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience in the gaming industry or mobile apps, including game publishing and advertising monetisation.
• Familiarity with Google Play, App Store and Amazon Appstore policies and DMCA procedures.
• Experience with international jurisdictions such as Cyprus, the UK and the US.
• Knowledge of GDPR and personal data protection.
• Confident use of Notion and Google Workspace, and experience with AI tools and workflow automation such as n8n.
