Molecular Biologist / Bioengineer

About the role

Adaptyv is building an automated laboratory where AI agents design and run biology experiments. As a Molecular Biologist / Bioengineer you will work in the biology and production team, developing and optimizing protein expression systems and molecular biology workflows that power the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize protein expression workflows across cell‑free (PURE, lysate‑based), E. coli, and mammalian systems, troubleshooting misfolding or aggregation.
• Design and execute DNA synthesis and assembly protocols (PCR, Golden Gate, Gibson), improving yield, fidelity and throughput.
• Create or adapt assays for thermostability, developability, enzyme activity, and other customer‑driven needs.
• Perform bench experiments, analyze data, identify failure modes and iteratively improve protocols.
• Collaborate with the automation team to translate manual methods into robot‑controlled workflows.

Required profile

• MSc or PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive hands‑on experience in molecular biology and protein production.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex experimental issues and drive systematic improvements.

• Biolayer interferometry (BLI) and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assays
