Officer, Business Process Optimization & Operations (GLC) - Temporary

About the role

The Global Fund's Grant Management Division (GMD) runs the core grant lifecycle (GLC) processes that manage funding requests, make grants, review performance, disburse funds and close grants. The Operational Efficiency (OE) team optimizes and integrates these processes, and the Business Process Optimization team designs them, manages change and supports their implementation. This Officer position is temporary until December 2027 and is based in Geneva.

Key responsibilities

• Project management: contribute to project plans, track progress, flag delays and risks, document decisions and prepare GLC governance meeting materials.
• Process diagnosis, design and documentation: analyze tickets, data, surveys and audits, coordinate with functional teams to redesign grant-lifecycle processes, develop process maps, RACIs, forms and Business Requirements Documents, and help define process metrics.
• Systems design and testing: coordinate with IT on solution design, data migration and user acceptance testing, including test scripts and test data.
• Change management: develop communication strategies and materials, train users, embed changes in operations, support hyper-care and knowledge transfer.
• Business process management: execute assigned process steps, resolve non-routine issues and maintain data quality through quality checks of grant deliverables.

The Officer works with a wide range of stakeholders across the Global Fund, identifies opportunities for automation and artificial intelligence, and ensures processes, policies, systems and data flows remain coherent and user-friendly.
