Onsite Support Engineer

About the role

The Onsite Support Engineer provides hands‑on technical support at client sites, maintaining IT infrastructure and ensuring hardware, software and network reliability across manufacturing locations.

Key responsibilities

• Image, wipe and re‑image Windows 10/11 laptops and desktops, and configure Apple devices.
• Install device drivers, connect and troubleshoot peripherals such as printers, scanners and quality‑control gauges.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, application and network teams to resolve site issues and execute remedial actions like remote wipe of lost devices.
• Register devices in the client’s Endpoint Management solution and enforce compliance with configuration policies.
• Manage incidents escalated from the Service Desk, own resolution of desktop/laptop problems not handled remotely, and act as first point of contact for end‑users.
• Maintain desktop encryption, anti‑virus/anti‑malware solutions, and ensure compliance through regular reviews.
• Support MS Surface Hubs, Logitech Tap devices and audio/visual equipment in meeting rooms, and provide onsite printer support.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of onsite IT support experience, preferably in manufacturing environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organisational levels.
• Self‑starter able to work independently and guide junior team members.
• Proficiency in both Windows and Apple operating systems.

Required skills

• Windows 10 & Windows 11 imaging and deployment.
• Apple device configuration and support.
• Peripheral installation and troubleshooting (printers, scanners, quality‑control gauges).
• Endpoint Management registration and compliance.
• Desktop encryption, anti‑virus/anti‑malware administration.
• Experience with MS Surface Hub, Logitech Tap, and AV equipment.
• Basic knowledge of servers, storage, cabling, switches, firewalls and Wi‑Fi access points.
