Operational Buyer – Procurement for Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Buyer to support our global manufacturing and supply chain operations in Visp, Switzerland. You will ensure material availability, manage supplier performance, and drive efficient procurement processes in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day procurement activities and purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier performance and improve delivery reliability.
• Resolve supplier issues such as delivery delays, order confirmations, pricing discrepancies, and shipping challenges.
• Support MRP‑driven procurement and material planning.
• Maintain accurate procurement and vendor master data in SAP.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams.
• Assist with supplier onboarding, qualification, and RFx activities.
• Participate in supplier review meetings and vendor performance discussions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operational procurement, purchasing or buying.
• Background in pharmaceuticals, biotech, chemicals or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of SAP and ERP systems, especially MRP‑driven processes.
• Experience handling supplier escalations and raw/direct material procurement.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in German and English.
