Operations Portfolio Lead BGE – Blood Gas & Electrolyte Portfolio

About the role

The Operations Portfolio Lead BGE is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of the Blood Gas & Electrolyte product portfolio within Roche Diagnostics Global Operations. Reporting to the Operations Product Portfolio Management function, you will act as the primary Global Operations representative in the Life Cycle Team, ensuring on‑time, in‑full, cost‑effective supply and aligning product strategy with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a 5‑to‑10‑year product roadmap aligned with Customer Area, Life Cycle Team, and Diagnostics Operations strategies.
• Monitor demand/supply situations, lead cross‑functional task forces to resolve supply interruptions and manage risk.
• Plan, fund, and execute product‑care and process‑improvement initiatives to optimise standard manufacturing costs, quality and supply reliability.
• Act as the main point of contact and subject‑matter expert for Global Operations in Life Cycle and Product Care Quality Teams.
• Manage stakeholder networks across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, sites and Operations functions, negotiating resource trade‑offs.
• Take financial responsibility for the portfolio using a Total Cost of Ownership approach, reviewing KPIs, budgets and investment cases.
• Provide indirect matrix leadership to cross‑functional leaders, senior specialists and expert squads worldwide.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, technical or business discipline; MSc, MBA or PhD preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in diagnostics, pharmaceutical or biotech industry with strong knowledge of Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality/Regulatory frameworks.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in a global matrix environment, driving operational excellence and portfolio integration.
• Proven ability to influence senior leadership, navigate high‑ambiguity situations and manage complex stakeholder networks.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 20 % of the time.
