OT Infrastructure Specialist

About the role

NSC Global is looking for an OT Infrastructure Specialist to manage and support operational technology computing hardware, server platforms and industrial networking environments. The role is 100% on-site, working in manufacturing facilities, control rooms and server rooms located in GMP-regulated buildings. It covers hands-on rack installations, physical cabling, network troubleshooting, hardware lifecycle management and rapid incident response to keep production running.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain physical servers, rack infrastructure, compute hardware and virtualized environments (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Windows Server)
• Deploy and manage industrial network equipment such as managed switches, firewalls, patch panels and VLANs on platforms like Cisco, Hirschmann and Ruggedcom
• Run OT patch management and OS maintenance with WSUS and offline patching for GxP-validated live production systems
• Oversee backup and recovery for critical manufacturing systems using tools such as Veeam and Backup Exec
• Maintain physical security standards and asset management protocols in control rooms, server rooms and floor nodes
• Provide immediate on-site troubleshooting and remediation during OT infrastructure failures to minimise downtime

Required profile

• Must be physically present on-site for hardware maintenance, cable management and switch configuration; remote work is not possible
• Ability to comply with site security rules, physical access requirements and gowning protocols in GMP-regulated areas
• Demonstrated calm and effective response to high-priority hardware or network failures in live production environments

Required skills

• VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Server administration in an industrial setting
• Hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of managed switches, firewalls and VLANs (Cisco, Hirschmann, Ruggedcom)
• Offline patching strategies, WSUS deployment and change control in GxP/GMP environments
• Enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam or Veritas Backup Exec
• Server procurement support, rack deployment, physical cabling and safe hardware decommissioning
