Packaging Development Intern

About the role

As a Packaging Development Intern at Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee, you will support the development and industrialisation of innovative packaging solutions for the Nescafé Dolce Gusto business, working closely with packaging experts, project managers, suppliers and manufacturing partners.

Key responsibilities

• Support the industrialisation and evaluation of new packaging materials for strategic Nescafé Dolce Gusto projects.
• Participate in laboratory activities, pilot‑line trials and packaging testing to validate technical solutions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to assess packaging performance and support implementation.
• Lead or contribute to technical discussions with suppliers and prepare test reports and project presentations.
• Help drive packaging innovation by supporting projects focused on material optimisation, sustainability and cost reduction.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or currently completing a Master’s degree in Packaging, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of polymer materials and sealing technologies with a genuine interest in packaging development and industrialisation.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and systems thinking.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional and international stakeholders.
• Proactive, agile and independent mindset with a willingness to learn.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Knowledge of polymer materials.
• Knowledge of sealing technologies.
• Experience with SPSS software (a plus).
