R&D Packaging Development Intern

About the role

As an R&D Packaging Development Intern at Nestlé Product Technology Centre, you will support the renovation of the Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsule body and contribute to the industrialisation of the NEO SACHET 2030 project. You will work closely with packaging, quality assurance and system performance teams, as well as material suppliers and external partners, gaining hands‑on experience in sustainable packaging innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the renovation of the Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsule body through material evaluation, testing and documentation.
• Contribute to the industrialisation of the NEO SACHET 2030 project via laboratory work, pilot trials and supplier or factory testing.
• Collaborate with packaging, quality assurance and system performance teams to ensure solutions meet technical, quality and sustainability criteria.
• Prepare clear presentations, test reports and technical summaries to aid project decisions and stakeholder alignment.
• Interact with packaging material suppliers and external partners to follow up on trials, results and next steps.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate or current student in Materials Science, Packaging, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Interest in packaging development, sustainable materials, industrialisation and hands‑on testing in an R&D environment.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, curiosity and proactive teamwork.
• Strong data‑analytics ability to interpret test results and translate data into insights.
• Solid command of the MS Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
