Part Time Russian Language Teacher

About the role

The United Nations Office at Geneva seeks a part‑time Russian language teacher to deliver general and specialised Russian courses to staff. The role involves both face‑to‑face and online instruction, using the CLM Moodle platform, and contributes to the UN’s multilingual mandate.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Russian language courses (general and specialised) in person or via online platforms.
• Prepare and update teaching materials in line with the LTP curriculum.
• Set up, maintain and monitor courses on the CLM Moodle learning platform, including uploading content and tracking student activity.
• Provide timely feedback, guidance and assessment to individual and group learners.
• Design, administer and grade assignments, tests and exams according to UN language standards.
• Record attendance, grades and course completion data in the administrative system.
• Participate in meetings, collaborate with colleagues and contribute to group work sessions.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in language teaching, applied linguistics, education or related field; a first‑level degree with six years relevant experience may be accepted.
• Minimum four years of experience teaching Russian as a foreign language to adult learners in multicultural settings, with at least three years recent experience in curriculum development, exam design or teacher training.
• Proven ability to develop learning materials and to use e‑learning tools and learning management systems.
• Expert level competence in Russian (oral and written) per the UN Language Framework and working knowledge of English and French.
