Partner – Business Law (Swiss Market)

About the role

Our client, an international business law firm with 500+ lawyers worldwide, is expanding its Swiss presence and seeks experienced Partners to lead the firm’s growth in Switzerland. The role is based in Lugano and offers the opportunity to shape the firm’s future in a dynamic, cross‑border environment.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and support corporate clients across sectors such as Financial Services, Life Sciences, General Industries, and Digital Assets.
• Prepare legal clarifications, statements, and documentation for start‑ups, financing, M&A, restructurings, and liquidations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, submissions, and other legally relevant documents.
• Represent clients before courts, arbitration tribunals, and administrative authorities.
• Train, guide, and manage junior colleagues and trainee lawyers.
• Maintain existing client relationships and acquire new domestic and international clients.
• Monitor legislative and case‑law developments and coordinate with internal and external colleagues worldwide.
• Select, instruct, and supervise correspondent lawyers and liaise with authorities and industry associations.

Required profile

• Law degree from a continental European university (MLaw or lic. iur.) with a Swiss bar exam or equivalent permit.
• Several years of Swiss experience in business law, preferably in Corporate/M&A, Commercial, IP/IT, Tax, Competition, Litigation, or Arbitration.
• Fluency in English and good knowledge of Italian; additional German or French is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, leadership skills, and an existing client base are strong advantages.
• Ability to manage high workloads, work independently or in a team, and handle national and international mandates.
