PhD Candidate / Research Associate – Generative & Agentic AI

About the role

This PhD position bridges Generative and Agentic AI, digital platforms, and digital transformation in incumbent firms. It is ideal for candidates aiming for an academic or industry career and offers the chance to join a research group studying AI‑driven changes in information systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on Generative and Agentic AI, platform ecosystems, and AI‑induced digital transformation.
• Apply qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews, agent‑based modelling, and simulation studies.
• Lead independent projects of high theoretical and practical relevance.
• Publish findings in top‑tier conferences and journals.
• Support teaching activities and executive education programs.

Required profile

• Master's degree (minimum grade average 5.0) in Information Systems, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related fields.
• Knowledge of qualitative (e.g., case study) and quantitative research methods.
• Strong command of written and spoken English; academic writing and presentation skills.
• German language skills are a strong asset.
