About the role

Julius Baer is looking for a Platform Owner to shape the future of its enterprise technology platform offering. This leadership role defines and drives the technical vision, roadmap and operational excellence of the global data platform that enables data-driven decision-making and reporting across the bank. You will work closely with enterprise architecture, product owners, engineering teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the end-to-end technical vision, multi-year roadmap and lifecycle strategy for the global data platform
• Gather requirements and maintain relationships with the current and potential consumer base
• Ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance and security, embedding NFRs, observability, automation and resilience-by-design
• Lead prioritisation and delivery of platform features with Product Managers, Scrum Masters, developers, system architects and release train engineers
• Own the platform backlog and prioritise delivery, balancing innovation, tech debt reduction and operational stability
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for incidents, problems, audits and risk findings
• Establish and monitor SLAs, SLOs and KPIs, and use metrics and OKRs to measure platform health and business value
• Drive standardisation, reuse and simplification across the platform ecosystem
• Coach Technical Leads and development teams, and shape the target operating model including staffing, governance and RACI definitions
• Represent the platform in executive forums and governance bodies

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field
• At least 10 years of experience in technology roles in large, regulated enterprises, preferably in financial services
• Proven experience owning, leading or scaling large-scale data platforms, preferably big data technology
• Experience managing cross-functional initiatives with multiple technical teams, vendors and domains, without direct authority
• Fluent English; German is an advantage
• Comfortable in a matrixed, multinational environment and with significant business/consumer interaction

Required skills

• Modern data technologies such as Apache Spark / Iceberg, Trino, Kafka, Kubernetes, Snowflake/Databricks, Hadoop ecosystems or equivalents
• Agile, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, software lifecycle governance, technical debt management and vulnerability remediation
• Road-mapping, backlog refinement, dependency management and KPI-based decision making
• Familiarity with risk and compliance frameworks for Swiss financial institutions
