Procurement Manager - Indirect / Operations Technology

About the role

Sika, a specialty chemicals company active in the building and industry sectors, is strengthening its global approach to Operational Technology (OT) procurement. It is looking for an experienced professional with a background in international chemical manufacturing, strong knowledge of OT systems and proven strategic category management expertise to build its global supplier landscape, drive standardization and create value across production sites. The role requires an international mindset and about 40% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement global procurement strategies for OT categories and suppliers
• Manage strategic supplier relationships with leading OT manufacturers, system integrators and service providers
• Negotiate global framework agreements, contracts, pricing models and service level agreements
• Identify and realise cost optimisation, standardisation and synergy opportunities across regions and sites
• Support local plants in complex sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations while keeping them aligned with global agreements
• Drive lifecycle and vendor performance management to secure reliable, future-proof OT solutions
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, third-party risk and regulatory requirements in procurement
• Work with OT, Engineering, Operations, Cybersecurity, Legal and Procurement stakeholders globally

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in strategic category management or indirect procurement, ideally covering IT/OT
• International manufacturing experience, preferably in chemicals, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals or a similar industry
• Fluent English; German is a strong advantage
• Willingness to travel about 40%, mainly within EMEA
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work in an international, matrixed organisation

Required skills

• Knowledge of OT systems such as DCS, SCADA, PLC and MES
• Experience negotiating complex service agreements, framework agreements and global supplier contracts
