Product Owner - B2B Digital Ecosystem Platform

About the role

ETH Zurich | Space, part of ETH Zurich, is building a highly secure, closed B2B digital platform together with ESA and its ESA Commercialization network. The platform aims to strengthen the European space startup and industry ecosystem by connecting international institutional stakeholders, industry partners and startup founders, with data-driven insights and advanced matching (including via AI). ETH Zurich | Space is looking for a Product Owner to take the initiative from concept through specification, vendor selection and full implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder scoping workshops with institutional managers, corporate partners and startup founders to align expectations and the product vision
• Turn the draft concept into a production-ready product specification package and a structured backlog
• Lead the technical evaluation and onboarding of the external software development partner
• Manage the project timeline and milestones, and oversee the partner through development, testing and deployment
• Define and enforce platform governance, including role-based access control, secure third-party data integrations, data residency compliance and scalability
• Act as the main contact for stakeholders and keep the project on track

Required profile

• University degree in computer science or a related field; other degrees accepted with significant relevant experience
• At least 5 years of professional experience, with a proven track record as a Product Owner or Product Manager delivering complex web-based B2B portals, collaboration networks or enterprise software
• Full professional fluency in English (German is a plus)

Required skills

• Understanding of modern web frameworks, API/webhook architecture, role-based access control and AI/LLM deployment frameworks
• Experience defining requirements for smart matching engines, data pipelines or AI-driven user feeds is highly advantageous
• Vendor management, coordination of agile sprints and QA oversight
