Production Manager – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

Microcaps, an ETH Zurich spin‑off, is seeking a Production Manager to lead its new perfume factory in Worben, Switzerland. You will be responsible for safe, efficient and cost‑effective manufacturing of alcohol‑free fine fragrances, ensuring compliance with quality, occupational health & safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily production campaigns, aligning personnel, machines, equipment and materials to meet cost and resource targets.
• Lead the on‑site production team, providing training, motivation and performance management.
• Define and own the production KPI framework (QOTIF, OEE, yield, schedule adherence) and translate targets into shift‑level objectives.
• Oversee short‑term workforce, machine and material planning, and manage AVOR activities and inventory.
• Conduct daily stand‑up/shop‑floor meetings, troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate pallet packing and documentation.
• Act as the on‑site owner of occupational health & safety, promoting a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing or production management, preferably in cosmetics or related sectors.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a high‑performing team.
• Excellent organisational abilities and a results‑driven mindset.
• Commitment to quality, safety and environmental standards.

Required skills

• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) knowledge.
• Experience with equipment utilisation metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Production planning and inventory management expertise.
