Production Plant Operator (Shifts)

About the role

Microcaps, a spin‑off from ETH Zurich, is scaling its microencapsulation technology for fine fragrances and cosmetics. We are looking for a dedicated Production Plant Operator to join our new site in Worben. You will work on a rotating early‑ and late‑shift schedule, ensuring smooth operation of the production line while supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Independent operation, monitoring, and cleaning of production equipment.
• Coordinate raw‑material supply and intermediate production.
• Collaborate with the industrialisation team to fine‑tune process parameters.
• Execute and document work instructions and in‑process controls precisely.
• Support troubleshooting of out‑of‑spec productions together with Quality & Development teams.
• Perform minor repairs, maintenance, and equipment adjustments.
• Drive process and plant optimisation, reducing waste through LEAN and shop‑floor management.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Swiss Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ) in a technical field such as polymechanic, production mechanic, or plant operator, or equivalent training (e.g., baker, chef) combined with plant‑operator experience.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in a GMP‑regulated production environment (food, cosmetics, pharma, or related sectors).
• Strong technical understanding and enthusiasm for operating and maintaining production equipment.
