Professorship in One Health (open rank)

About the role

The University of Basel, together with the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), seeks a qualified academic to fill an open‑rank Professorship in One Health. The role combines high‑level research on integrated health approaches with graduate and postgraduate teaching within Basel's vibrant life‑sciences community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead research projects on theoretical and methodological aspects of One Health.
• Enhance Swiss TPH’s research portfolio through interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Teach and supervise graduate and professional postgraduate students.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert, advising internal and external stakeholders, including policy‑makers.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant discipline (e.g., public health, epidemiology, veterinary medicine, environmental health).
• Strong publication record in One Health or related fields.
• Experience in interdisciplinary research and teaching at university level.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
