Programme Management Officer – Private Finance Policy

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Programme Management Officer to lead its work on private finance policy and regulation. Based in Geneva, the incumbent will support the transition of high‑impact sectors toward a sustainable and stable financial system.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and implement outreach strategies to policy makers, financial institutions, ministries of finance, central banks and real‑economy stakeholders.
• Provide analytical and technical assistance to countries on sustainable finance policy frameworks, including taxonomies, disclosure and risk‑related frameworks.
• Support operationalisation and interoperability of policy frameworks to facilitate cross‑border private financial flows.
• Coordinate with UNEP Finance Initiative and other private‑finance initiatives to ensure complementarity.
• Collaborate with the Economic and Fiscal Policy Unit for a coherent approach to public and private financing of the transition.

Required profile

• Experience in sustainable finance, policy analysis or related fields.
• Ability to work with international programmes, public and private finance institutions.
• Strong coordination and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
