Project Communication and Coordination Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme is seeking a Project Communication and Coordination Consultant to support the Chemicals Science and Policy Unit in delivering the Supply Chains Integrated Programme. The consultant will lead the implementation of the 2026 Communications Action Plan and enhance the programme’s visibility across stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the 2026 Communications Action Plan and overall communications strategy for the Integrated Programme.
• Support the design, launch and operational management of a programme‑wide knowledge‑management platform.
• Facilitate information exchange and coordination among the eight country projects within the Integrated Programme.
• Coordinate communications and knowledge‑management networks, ensuring consistent messaging.
• Assist with external outreach, event support and visibility activities related to the programme.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in communications, public relations, environmental policy or related fields.
• Experience working in international or multilateral environments, preferably on environmental or sustainable‑development programmes.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑stakeholder communication processes and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.

Required skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience developing communication strategies and action plans.
• Familiarity with knowledge‑management platforms and coordination tools.
