Project Communications Manager

About the role

Herzog & de Meuron, an international architectural practice based in Basel, Switzerland, is looking for a Project Communications Manager to join its Communications team in the Basel office, ideally available to start immediately. The role reports directly to the Lead of Project Communications and acts as the interface between architectural project teams, clients, PR agencies and media professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Support strategic communication for challenging architectural projects.
• Plan communications activities on a short- and long-term basis, coordinating them with the overall strategy.
• Digest and assemble architectural content produced by the teams (texts, wordings, visuals).
• Write and edit texts.
• Coordinate media relations and external communication, and prepare and coordinate media campaigns.
• Process editorial requests from international publications.
• Develop and manage internal organisation, including documentation and roadmaps, and support internal communication.

Required profile

• University or technical college degree in media studies, journalism, architecture or the arts, combined with a strong affinity for architecture and design.
• At least two years of experience in communications and media relations in an international environment.
• Keen understanding of the local media landscape is a plus.
• Native or near-native German, with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Excellent command of English or French, written and spoken; French speakers need English at B2 level or above.
• Stylistically confident and able to speak and present.
