Propellant Production Technician

About the role

The Destinus engineering team is looking for a Propellant Production Technician to join the serial manufacturing of solid‑rocket‑motor propellant at its Lucerne facility. This hands‑on position works directly with energetic and chemical materials in a tightly regulated, safety‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out propellant mixing, casting and curing operations following validated batch records and SOPs.
• Weigh, prepare and handle energetic raw materials in compliance with safety protocols and Swiss regulations.
• Operate and monitor production equipment such as mixers, casting stations and curing ovens, recording process parameters for each batch.
• Complete batch documentation, maintain traceability of materials and process data, and perform in‑process quality checks.
• Support assembly, integration, packaging of the final product and assist in troubleshooting with Production Manager, engineering and QA teams.

Required profile

• Background in chemistry, chemical production or a related technical field; Chemielaborant EFZ is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience in batch chemical or process manufacturing, preferably with energetic or hazardous materials.
• Familiarity with Swiss safety regulations (SUVA, StFV) and hazardous‑material handling procedures.
• High attention to detail, methodical approach and ability to follow SOPs and batch records accurately.
