Public Information and Communications Intern

About the role

The Public Information and Communications Intern will join the Public Information Office of the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) in Geneva. Working closely with the Associate Public Information Officer and the Public Information Officer, the intern will support outreach, content creation and translation activities for the UN‑based entity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and schedule social‑media content across UN platforms.
• Produce visual materials such as videos, infographics and other graphics.
• Write and edit content for the website, newsletters and social media posts.
• Coordinate translation requests and ensure timely delivery of multilingual materials.
• Take detailed notes during relevant meetings, including Human Rights Council sessions.
• Monitor news feeds, compile daily press clippings and circulate them to the team.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed the final year of a bachelor’s programme, a master’s programme or a Ph.D.
• Fluency in English (required) and working knowledge of French is an asset.
• Field of study related to communications, journalism, media studies or a comparable discipline.
• Demonstrated interest in human‑rights issues and international public information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with design software for creating visual content.
• Experience using video editing software to produce short videos or animations.
