QC Microbiology Scientist – Pharma (80-100% FTE)

About the role

Eurofins is seeking a QC Microbiology Scientist to lead and validate innovative microbiological analytical methods within its GMP‑regulated quality control laboratory in Schönenwerd. The role supports the growth of Eurofins’ BioPharma testing services in Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects introducing new analytical methods and equipment (e.g., identification methods, utility testing) into the microbiology lab.
• Plan and coordinate activities with internal teams (QA, customer service) and external suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory guidelines and internal quality standards.
• Prepare and review equipment qualification and method validation documentation (URS, QP, DQ, IOQ, protocols, reports).
• Train and mentor laboratory staff and supervise customer projects focused on utility qualification testing.
• Map and configure projects in the LIMS system, approve analysis results and reports, and handle deviations and root‑cause analyses.

Required profile

• Degree in life sciences (pharmacy, biochemistry, biology, preferably microbiology).
• Minimum 3 years experience in a regulated environment (ISO 17025, GLP, preferably GMP).
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work in a team.
• Excellent German and good English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Microbiology techniques and MALDI‑TOF identification.
• Utility testing (TOC, conductivity, cleaning validation, gas testing).
• Experience with LIMS and digitalisation projects.
• Equipment qualification and method validation expertise.
• Project management and documentation skills.
