Quality Manager – Data Centre Project

About the role

A leading European engineering contractor working on a major data centre project in Switzerland is looking for a Quality Manager. The role covers developing quality plans, manuals, documents and systems, and reviewing specifications to identify inspection and test requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, implement and maintain the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 14001.
• Develop quality plans, manuals, documents and systems.
• Review specifications to identify inspection and test requirements and develop project inspection and test plans.
• Train project personnel in the contractor's project QA/QC plan.
• Work with the client to ensure their quality standards and procedures are submitted, approved and implemented on time.
• Complete audits and advise management on QA issues.
• Control documents, review and revise them to reflect changes in company policy and objectives in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Standardise QA/QC procedures across projects and integrate them into the company QA/QC manual.
• Review vendor and subcontractor documentation and carry out off-site factory and prefabrication audits (source inspection).
• Use SAP, Eida, Procore, BIM 360 Field and other software to carry out duties; perform root cause analysis on significant project events when needed.

Required profile

• Relevant third-level or professional qualification.
• 5+ years in QA/QC lead or management roles, ideally with strong MEP experience.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills, and good ethics including trustworthiness, commitment and empathy.
• Confident, creative and energetic approach to quality issues, with the ability to write quality reports.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001.
