Quant Modeling Analyst - Oil

About the role

TotalEnergies' Front Innovation Tools (FIT) team, a group of nine members working on the trading floor, is hiring a quantitative analyst for its Oil trading desk. The team builds and delivers models and digital tools used daily by traders, and works closely with market analysis, risk and IT departments. The position is permanent (CDI) in Geneva, with a desired start date of January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Develop option pricing models, calibrate volatility models to market values and update the central system regularly
• Structure financial products with marketing based on client needs, analyse payoff risks and detect optionalities in physical assets or transactions
• Build dashboards giving traders visual tools to summarise risk, view live prices and simulate positions
• Monitor credit risk on derivative trades with counterparties without a CSA agreement and measure returns on that risk
• Develop logistics optimisation tools such as blending, tank level updates and cargo simulation
• Maintain the IT ecosystem continuously, deploy tools and coordinate with Cyber and Infrastructure teams

Required profile

• Degree in a quantitative master or engineering school in Mathematics, Physics, Data Engineering or Quantitative Finance
• Programming experience in Python or C++
• Previous trading-floor or commodities-market experience is a plus
• Experience on large IT projects with continuous integration tools such as TFS or AWS is a plus
• Ability to work under pressure and urgency, with good communication and teamwork
