R&D Intern - Clinical Digital Transformation

About the role

Nestlé Research is looking for an R&D Intern in Clinical Digital Transformation in Lausanne, Switzerland. The internship lasts 6 months and is hybrid, with a start in February or August 2027. You will help accelerate the use of digital health technologies, data and automation in clinical research, working with scientists, clinical research professionals, data specialists and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess digital health technologies such as wearables and sensors for scientific validity, measurement performance, usability and suitability for clinical studies
• Review scientific and technical literature on digital measures, validation, usability and operational testing of digital devices
• Analyze clinical and digital datasets, assess data quality and turn findings into visualizations, dashboards and actionable insights
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve data-processing workflows
• Support the deployment of digital technology in clinical studies, from protocols and questionnaires to testing, reporting and recommendations

Required profile

• Current student or fresh graduate in life sciences engineering or a related field
• Strong interest in applying digital technologies and data science to clinical research and health
• Analytical, curious and proactive, able to review scientific evidence critically and communicate findings clearly
• Fluent English

Required skills

• Practical experience with Python or R and working with structured, complex datasets
• Power BI, digital health technologies or digital biomarkers are an advantage
