Registered Nurse Emergency Department

About the role

The Registered Nurse Emergency Department position is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Zurich. You will deliver high‑quality nursing care to patients presenting with urgent and critical conditions, working within a fast‑paced emergency environment that values clinical excellence and compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform triage, rapid assessment, and ongoing monitoring of emergency and trauma patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and assist with emergency procedures.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Document all nursing interventions accurately and respond promptly to changes in patient status.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow‑up care.
• Participate in shift handovers, departmental meetings, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Valid registered nurse licence eligible for practice in Zurich and compliance with local regulatory requirements.
• Previous experience in an emergency department, urgent‑care, or critical‑care setting is highly beneficial.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to patient safety and infection‑control protocols.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
