Remote Attorney & Lawyer Subject Matter Expert (Hourly Contractor)

About the role

This is a remote, hourly contractor position where you will act as an Attorney/Lawyer Subject Matter Expert (SME) for an AI data‑services company. You will review AI‑generated legal responses, create high‑quality legal content, and provide detailed feedback to improve AI model performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content such as prompts, issue analyses, drafting examples, checklists, policies, and memos.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to enhance correctness, clarity, defensibility, and risk awareness.
• Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, misleading certainty, confidentiality risks, and bias, ensuring reliability across legal scenarios.

Required profile

• JD/LLB (or equivalent) with active bar membership (or eligibility) in at least one jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of professional legal experience (law firm, in‑house, government, or legal aid).
• Proven ability to spot issues and conduct structured legal analysis (rule → application → conclusion).
• Experience in one or more practice areas such as contracts, employment, privacy, corporate, litigation, IP, real estate, or compliance.
• Strong research skills, capable of locating and synthesizing primary authority.
• Excellent drafting and editing abilities with attention to precision and tone.
• High attention to detail for fact‑checking and identifying overconfident or incomplete claims.
• Minimum C1 English proficiency and self‑directed work style.
