Research Alliances & Science Insourcing Lead

About the role

As a Research Alliances & Science Insourcing Lead at Nestlé Research, you will ensure access to the best global science by leading research alliances, science insourcing, and scientific intelligence. You will work closely with research leaders, technology teams, legal partners, universities, startups, publishers, and external experts to turn ideas into sustainable, innovative solutions for people, pets, and the planet.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the research alliances and science insourcing strategy to build high‑value partnerships with academia, startups, publishers, and innovation ecosystems.
• Drive strategic collaborations that accelerate discovery, strengthen innovation impact, and support Nestlé Research priorities.
• Create seamless access to internal and external scientific knowledge by connecting researchers to experts, literature, publishers, and research services.
• Transform scientific intelligence into a strategic capability by identifying emerging trends and translating them into actionable insights.
• Strengthen Nestlé Research’s scientific reputation by building trusted relationships with universities and external thought leaders.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent scientific background with the credibility to connect cutting‑edge science to business needs.
• 10+ years of experience in R&D, scientific innovation, external collaborations, or scientific leadership.
• Proven success in academic partnerships and innovation ecosystems with measurable impact.
• Experience leading complex initiatives in direct or indirect leadership roles.
• Strong strategic communication and influencing skills to translate complex scientific topics into compelling narratives.

Required skills

• Experience managing scientific infrastructures, research services, knowledge platforms, or shared capabilities.
