Research Scientist - In Vivo Preclinical RLT Pharmacology

About the role

Novartis is looking for a Research Scientist for its preclinical Radioligand Therapy (RLT) team in Basel, Switzerland, working onsite. You will develop and characterise oncology models, evaluate novel treatments and generate insights that support the Oncology portfolio. The role is 80-100% and requires hands-on experience with rodents, pharmacology, bioanalysis and imaging. Relocation support is not offered.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and characterise novel in vivo oncology models for preclinical radioligand therapy research.
• Run efficacy studies of novel radioligand therapies across oncology programmes.
• Perform biodistribution studies and metabolite analyses to inform pharmacology decisions.
• Carry out small-animal PET, SPECT and CT imaging studies.
• Support in vitro and ex vivo work, including cell culture, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, autoradiography, PCR and Western blotting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cell Biology, Medical Physics, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Pharmacology or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with rodent handling and in vivo oncology models, including dosing, sampling and animal welfare.
• Practical in vivo experience in an academic or industry biomedical research laboratory.
• Training and practical experience working safely with open radioactive sources.
• Advanced written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Desirable: PET, SPECT or CT imaging in rodents and image analysis.
• Desirable: cellular and molecular biology methods, immunohistochemistry, tissue processing and sectioning.
• Desirable: strong collaboration, organisation and communication skills across interdisciplinary, cross-site teams.
