Research Scientist / Research Engineer (Machine Learning)

About the role

We are seeking a Research Scientist / Research Engineer to advance adaptive, efficient AI systems that learn continuously from real‑time user and product signals. The role blends cutting‑edge machine‑learning research with practical product deployment in a highly collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop adaptive machine‑learning algorithms that enable real‑time learning and dynamic AI behavior.
• Co‑design system components that integrate user feedback and product signals to improve model performance.
• Create pipelines for collecting, shaping, and leveraging synthetic and real‑world data.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and research teams to optimise full‑stack system efficiency.
• Define and evaluate metrics that reflect real‑world impact and user value.
• Translate research concepts into production‑ready, scalable solutions.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent research experience in computer science or a related field.
• 4‑5+ years of industry experience in machine‑learning or AI research.
• Deep expertise in at least one area such as model efficiency, real‑time alignment, or algorithmic optimisation.
• Strong systems‑thinking ability across the full ML pipeline.
• Proven experience working in large‑scale industrial or research‑lab environments.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow.
• Knowledge of optimisation techniques, including reinforcement learning from human feedback and fine‑tuning methods.
