About the role
The Reservations Clerk supports the hotel’s front‑office by handling all guest reservation enquiries, modifications and cancellations. Working at the Geneva Marriott Hotel, you will ensure accurate bookings, provide clear information on rates and policies, and deliver a welcoming experience for every caller.
Key responsibilities
- Process reservation requests, changes and cancellations received by phone, fax or mail.
- Identify guest needs, verify room availability and rate, and explain guarantee, special rate and cancellation policies.
- Enter and update reservation data in the hotel’s reservation system, including special codes for complimentary rooms, employee discounts and travel‑agent rates.
- Accommodate and document special requests, answer questions about hotel facilities and services, and follow sales techniques to maximize revenue.
- Escalate guest concerns according to proper procedures and maintain confidentiality of guest and company information.
- Uphold uniform and appearance standards, assist guests with disabilities, and adhere to all company policies and quality‑assurance standards.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- No prior experience in reservations required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 10 lb without assistance.
- Professional telephone etiquette and clear spoken English.
