Restaurant Manager - Fine Dining

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich, part of the Mandarin Oriental group, is looking for a Restaurant Manager - Fine Dining to join its Orsini team. Based in the RB&E (Restaurants, Bars & Experiences) department, the manager leads the Orsini Service team to deliver impeccable service to guests and reports to the Assistant Director of RB&E.

Key responsibilities

• Support and represent the Assistant Director of RB&E for the service area in their absence and act as the contact person for the restaurant team
• Create and control rosters and plan holidays
• Ensure smooth, guest-oriented work processes in close cooperation with all house departments
• Promote employee development, conduct feedbacks and appraisal interviews
• Coordinate daily restaurant work to meet quality standards and give personal care and advice to guests
• Handle guest complaints professionally and ensure high-quality guest satisfaction
• Innovate and strategize guest service and sales opportunities
• Manage projects and administrative tasks

Required profile

• Vocational training in the upscale hotel or catering industry, ideally 2-3 years of experience in a similar position
• Leadership, organizational skills and the ability to lead a multicultural team with sensitivity and discipline
• Expressiveness, open-mindedness, team spirit and excellent written and verbal communication
• Good computer skills, knowledge of various cash register systems and a positive, well-groomed appearance
• Very good German and English; additional foreign languages are an advantage
• Willingness to work night, weekend and holiday shifts
