Scientist - Small Molecule & Radioligand Therapy Analytics

About the role

A highly motivated Expert in Science & Technology is sought to support Analytical Research & Development (ARD) within the Global Technical R&D department. ARD characterizes and analyzes small molecule drug substances and drug products from discovery through to transfer to commercial production. The role sits in the Small Molecules GMP Analytics Team, focused on small molecules and radioligand therapy, starting 04.01.2027 on an 18-month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, run, interpret and report scientific experiments to deliver drug substances and drug products for clinical use and potential registration.
• Write and review analytical documents such as methods, specifications, validation and stability reports, and batch records for stability and release testing.
• Manage interactions with internal and external stakeholders, including outsourced CRO activities, and support or manage deviations and investigations.
• Identify scientific, technological and GMP challenges and propose solutions, and represent the team in analytical sub-team meetings.
• Perform and document laboratory experiments in systems such as GLIMS eLN, and uphold GDP and GLP.
• Support audits and health authority inspections, meet KQI and KPI targets, and follow SOPs, GMP, HSE, ISRM and Novartis guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a life science (analytical or organic chemistry, pharmacy, pharmaceutical development) or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of related experience in a GMP environment.
• Fluent English, oral and written; German is a plus.
• Ability to work and collaborate in an international environment.

Required skills

• Broad scientific knowledge of chemistry, pharmaceutical or analytical sciences.
• Advanced knowledge of laboratory tools such as HPLC, dissolution testing and Chromeleon, and quality management systems.
• Scientific and technical writing skills.
