Senior Accountant - Accounts Payable (m/f/d)

About the role

Decathlon Switzerland is growing fast and is transforming its finance and procurement ERP. It is looking for a Senior Accounts Payable & AP Leader to join its Geneva or Lausanne office, reporting directly to the accounting leader. You will lead and structure the Accounts Payable team, ensure smooth daily operations and drive process transformations.

Key responsibilities

• Structure O2P (Order to Pay) processes, define responsibilities and optimize workflows to support business growth.
• Lead and mentor teammates across the country, manage performance against KPIs (DPO, invoice processing times, automation rates) and report regularly to management.
• Oversee the full AP cycle and monthly/yearly closing (accruals, prepayments, manual entries), acting as escalation point for complex issues.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and standardize the procurement process, running recovery plans where needed.
• Set up an internal control framework (delegation of authority, segregation of duties, purchase order validation).
• Act as a key stakeholder in the ERP and Purchase-to-Pay migration, lead change management and training, and ensure compliance with Swiss accounting standards and group governance.
• Guarantee data quality for purchases, vendors, invoicing and reporting.

Required profile

• 5 to 7+ years in Accounts Payable and General Accounting, including at least 2 years in a leadership, team lead or senior coordination role.
• Fluency in French and English is mandatory; working German is a strong advantage.
• Ability to build processes from scratch, mentor juniors and champion organizational change.
• Analytical mindset, data-driven and structured approach to complex problems.

Required skills

• Core accounting systems such as Oracle.
• Expense and P2P platforms, group reporting and BI tools.
• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets.
• ERP migration and implementation experience is a significant asset.
