Senior Analyst / Associate – Investment Team

About the role

Mercuria is seeking a Senior Analyst or Associate to join its Investment Team. This hands‑on role will drive the analytical work behind new transactions and manage the day‑to‑day modelling, diligence and reporting that support the Group’s principal investing activity.

Key responsibilities

• Build and own detailed financial, valuation and commodity price models, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
• Conduct market, asset and counterparty due diligence focusing on supply‑demand fundamentals, cost curves, regulatory and commercial risks.
• Draft investment committee papers, memoranda, teasers and board materials, presenting a clear investment case.
• Support deal execution from screening to closing, managing data rooms and coordinating advisers.
• Monitor portfolio assets with performance reporting, budget tracking, KPI dashboards and valuation updates.
• Collaborate across trading desks, finance, risk, treasury, legal and tax to understand financing and hedging structures.
• Screen inbound opportunities and maintain the pipeline for origination.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investing, commodity trading house investment or transaction advisory.
• Excellent financial modelling and accounting skills with ability to build complex models from scratch.
• Strong written communication, capable of turning large evidence bases into concise investment papers.
• Bachelor’s degree; CFA, ACA, CPA or equivalent is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a lean team, organized, detail‑oriented and resilient under transaction timelines.
