Senior Architect – Laboratory & Production Buildings (Pharma/Biotech)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Architect to lead the design of laboratory and production facilities for the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors in Switzerland. The role offers long‑term career prospects within a dedicated architecture department and involves the full project lifecycle from concept to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to architectural design for complex laboratory and production buildings.
• Manage projects across SIA phases 1–5, ensuring compliance with Swiss standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop design concepts that integrate technical, functional and regulatory constraints.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants and client stakeholders.
• Prepare visual presentations and clear documentation for each project phase.

Required profile

• Master of Science in Architecture (Swiss or equivalent) with 5–7 years of experience in the Swiss market.
• Experience in designing pharmaceutical and/or biotech facilities is highly desirable.
• Strong customer focus, stakeholder management and ability to inspire project teams.
• Fluent in German, English and French.
• Willingness to travel within Switzerland.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools.
• Advanced knowledge of BIM, especially Revit.
• Familiarity with Swiss SIA standards and relevant regulations.
