Senior Backend Developer

About the role

Alohi, an AI‑first SaaS scale‑up, is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to own and evolve the server‑side systems that power its suite of products used by millions worldwide. You will work on‑site in Geneva, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performance, reliable APIs and backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain mission‑critical backend systems handling high‑volume requests.
• Develop robust APIs and web services that power frontend applications.
• Create and optimise backend modules, ensuring clean architecture and maintainable code.
• Integrate AI‑powered features, including LLMs, model APIs and data pipelines.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimise database queries and system architecture.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerised deployments.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and participate in on‑call rotations.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of backend software engineering experience, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python and solid experience with complex data structures.
• Hands‑on experience with MongoDB, MariaDB and Elasticsearch.
• Deep understanding of Linux, HTTP, REST, web servers and microservices architecture.
• Ability to evaluate and use AI‑assisted development tools while maintaining code quality.
