Senior Backend-for-Frontend Engineer (BFF)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend‑for‑Frontend (BFF) Engineer to design, develop and maintain secure, scalable services that power modern web and mobile e‑banking applications. The role is based on‑site in Zürich and requires close collaboration with frontend, backend, security and architecture teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and evolve BFF services using REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Orchestrate backend services to meet frontend integration requirements.
• Ensure performance, scalability and security of all BFF endpoints.
• Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with security specialists to embed authentication and authorization mechanisms.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong background in BFF architecture and API development.
• Experience with security‑critical systems, preferably in banking or fintech.
• Familiarity with microservices and cloud‑based architectures.
• Proficiency in agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
