Senior Category Buyer – Professional Services (7‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Category Buyer specialized in Professional Services to support a pharmaceutical client on a 7‑month renewable assignment. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost‑optimization at the site level while collaborating with global procurement teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities, including RFx creation, supplier selection, negotiation and contract management.
• Implement global category strategies locally and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor performance and support risk assessments.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and provide procurement expertise.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory requirements and support the rollout of procurement tools (SAP, Ariba).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in strategic procurement, preferably in professional services.
• Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Fluent English; additional language skills are a plus.
• CIPS or equivalent certification is advantageous.
