Senior Cost Manager (Construction Economist) - French & English

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for an experienced construction-based Senior Cost Manager to join its team in Switzerland, working on commercial, office and retail projects. The role covers pre- and post-contract cost management, from estimates and tenders to final accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variations and final accounts
• Carry out feasibility studies and write procurement reports
• Produce and present the final cost plan, including estimating and cost planning
• Manage tendering and procurement: pre-qualification, tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report and contractual documents
• Carry out timely and accurate cost checks and valuations
• Produce monthly post-contract cost reports for the client and interface with clients and other consultants at every project stage
• Take part in post-contract cost variances and change control, perform cost risk analysis, support value engineering and negotiate and approve final accounts
• Maintain central feedback on cost estimating and contribute to updating best practices

Required profile

• C1 French or French mother tongue
• University degree in Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• At least 10 years of experience in cost management
• Strong experience with spreadsheets and databases
• Experience managing teams using multiple estimating tools, or proven cost/commercial management experience, ideally in a consultancy setting
• Good organisation, multi-tasking, listening and communication skills, and a collaborative approach
