Senior Data Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Zühlke you will design, implement and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures for a variety of clients. You will work closely with customers to translate their data needs into scalable solutions that generate actionable business insights.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and monitor distributed data processing pipelines in cloud or on‑premises environments.
• Collaborate with data scientists to support machine‑learning model creation and deployment.
• Perform performance and cost estimations for diverse use cases.
• Create dashboards to visualise processed data for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in technical roles with a focus on Big Data and sustainable software development.
• University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field (e.g., ETH, Uni, FH).
• Fluency in both German and English.

Required skills

• Python and SQL.
• Hadoop, Apache Spark, Hive, Airflow.
• RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
• DevOps practices, Kubernetes.
• Java or .NET.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
